No need to go anywhere. Stay on site and enjoy the extensive crafting room of Blue Ridge Assembly. The craft shop offers a place to experience the dignity of handwork through heritage crafts of the Appalachian mountains. People of all ages (children and adults) and ranges of abilities will find fun and enjoyment in the craft shop. There are many beginning level projects and activities as well as equipment and material for those with experience who have the time and inspiration to create a memory of the Blue Ridge and Go Congress experience. ** Note: There is no upfront fee, but you pay as you go depending on the craft project you do. Generally they range from $5-$40.** Projects include:

  • *Beads And Jewelry: * Bracelets, necklaces, earrings, bookmarks, bead creatures, dream catchers, glass beads to pony beads, fine cording, leather and wire to leather lacing and hemp braiding.

  • *Leather: * Key rings, bracelets, necklaces, coin purses, belts, guitar straps.

  • *Paint on Wood: * Rocking chairs, treasure boxes, picture frames, animals, crosses, birdhouses, seasonal items.

  • *Paper: * Scrapbooking materials and techniques to make special cards.

  • *Pottery: * Handbuilding, wheel-throwing, tiles, sculpy, paint-on-pottery.

  • *Weaving: * Loom weaving - mats, table runners, scarves, tablecloths, baby blankets, potholders.

  • *Candle Making: * Chunk candles, rolled beeswax candles, dipped candles.

  • *Tie-Dye: * T-shirts, silk scarves.

  • *Mosaics: * Picture frames.

  • *Knitting: * Beginning knitting projects-scarves, prayer shawls.

  • *Fiber Arts: * Sock puppets, nature journals.
