The Seattle Aquarium operates as a nonprofit 501c3, through a long-term operating agreement with the City of Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation. The 9th largest Aquarium in the U.S. by attendance and among the top 5 paid visitor attractions in the Puget Sound region. Opened in 1977. Expanded by 18,000 square feet in 2007 with $42 million of new exhibits, gift and food service as well as exciting meeting and event facilities. The Aquarium’s species collection is featured within six major exhibits: Window on Washington Waters, Life on the Edge, Pacific Coral Reef, Puget Sound Fish and Dome Room, Puget Sound Orcas Family Activity Center, and Marine Mammals

Turn left onto Pacific Ave S/WA-7. Pita Pit is on the right. 0.9 mi. Turn right onto 108th St S.108th St S is 0.2 miles past 112th St S. Denny’s is on the left. If you reach 107th St S you’ve gone a little too far. 0.07 mi. Merge onto WA-512 W toward I-5/McChord AFB. 2.1 mi. Merge onto I-5 N toward Tacoma/Seattle. 36.7 mi. Take the Dearborn St/James St exit, EXIT 164A, toward Madison St. 1.0 mi. Take the I-5 N exit on the left toward Madison St/Convention Center/Vancouver BC. Take the exit toward Madison St/Convention Center. 0.3 mi. Stay straight to go onto 7th Ave. 0.05 mi. Take the 1st left onto Madison St. If you reach Spring St. you’ve gone a little too far. 0.5 mi. Turn right onto Alaskan Way. Ivar’s Fish Bar is on the corner. 1483 ALASKAN WAY is on the left.
